Mac N Cheese and Pizza

Ok, how in the world am I supposed to lose weight when there are yummy foods out there, like this...

and this...

You see, I love these things. I actually crave them. Yet they are not healthy, not even a little bit. But I can't say no. So, I have both of these things at least once a week and afterwards, I always feel guilty. And then I hate the fact that I actually feel guilty! How do you health eaters do it?? I try to eat healthy, but I can only go so far before I start craving mac n cheese and pizza again...and it doesn't take long before I give into my cravings. I can only fight them off for so long. Has anyone else conquered this? (I'm also a little ashamed that I actually love mac n cheese as much as I do, ha)

i think those the most successful with their weight issues will tell you that it's not about completely giving up certain foods, it's that you have everything in moderation. sugar isn't bad; TOO MUCH sugar is bad. cheese isn't bad; TOO MUCH cheese is bad. chocolate isn't bad; TOO MUCH chocolate is bad. is a soda now and then going to kill anyone? no. is a twelve pack a day? maybe.

don't feel guilty for eating foods you love! just try to balance it out with a healthy breakfast that day, some steamed veggies for lunch or something. telling yourself you absolutely can't have something is just going to make you want it more!

exactly! portion control and not eating late at night will help you loose weight. i don't "exercise" but then again i chase after four dogs every day plus walks with them (not every day...i'm not a machine!! :D) but the biggest difference i have seen for myself is not eating fast food and eating slower and eating less at each meal and not eating after 9. eventually you'll get to a point where you feel stuffed after eating just a little bit, and no matter how good it tastes, just stop eating it! and as lame as it sounds, try to incorporate drinking more water every single day. you'll be amazed at how much it helps settle hunger pains! good luck!!!

This made me laugh inside, just cause I can totally relate. i am glad to know someone else that struggles with the same issues! I love you Brandie. And you and I both know its not easy, and I wish you well in fighting your cravings, moderating and eating more healthy.

i've found that portion control is the key. i haven't given up the foods i love, i just eat less. and, i eat little snacks between meals so i'm not as hungry at meal time. peanut butter and crackers are good...or, cereal bars that are low calorie (90-100). =)
