And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude

So, I am finally getting around to posting a blog about our son, Jude Michael. I have been putting it off, shame on me!

Here he is, Jude, born on February 21, 2008 at 9:20am. He was 7lbs 1oz and 20.5 inches long.

He's got frog legs! Apparently that's how he was in the womb, but they have since come down and look normal. :) He's such a joy to have, but I tell you...we are not getting much sleep! I hear it gets better though.

This is how he likes to sleep, with his arms up!

I just love this kid. I am so proud of my family.

Quick update...

Hey to all. Just wanted to send a quick update on things. Everything is going great here at the Fergus house. We're just getting ready for our little one's arrival. We received his furniture last weekend...his room looks great! My sweet family purchased it and brought it to us. What an amazing gift!! We are so grateful. I'll probably take some pics of it when it's all decorated and ready. We still have some more things we'd like to do to it. The pregnancy is going wonderful, really, I couldn't have asked for a better pregnancy. I am actually really enjoying it. Jude is moving around so much in there, sometimes I think he's doing jazzercise in my belly! I love the feeling though, I will definitely miss it when he's here. Anyway, I'll post some new pics, I know how everyone loves to keep up with pregnant bellies! :)

Ross and Fiona say hello too!

WE'RE HAVIN' A BABY

...That's right folks I have impregnated my wife. :D

We're excited to share with you all that Brandie is almost 15 weeks pregnant. We have pictures that will be posted soon.

Since we're going to be dirt poor, you can make all cash, and food donations to our doorstep...dog and cat food is acceptable too being that we have four cats and a dog.

We love you all,

holla

1st Anniversary

The road traveled…

Ross and I celebrated our first anniversary recently, on June 4th. It’s a weird thing, celebrating a wedding anniversary. Weird in a good way though. It’s weird because partly, the past year has flown by. At one point in my life, time seemed to be standing still and now it’s going so fast I can hardly keep up. Also, it’s weird because I think about how far we’ve come in only a year. While time seems to be speeding by at lightening speed, Ross and I have grown so much since our wedding day. Don’t get me wrong, we have so much more growing to do…and we’re not perfect. But, to know that God has given me this one person and me to him; this one is the man that God chose just for me! How special is that! And I love my life with him. I love our lives together. We have 4 kitties, live in Arkansas and life could not be better.

Things I have learned in the past year:
-loving someone when they’re not lovable is hard, but not impossible

-forgiveness is KEY

-sometimes you just need space

-throw out ALL of your relationship/love expectations

-live in reality, not in fantasy

-don’t spend your time wishing he did this or wishing he did that, but be thankful for what he does do

-laughing and joking together creates a strong bond

-jealousy and insecurity doesn’t do anything good, it will only make you crazy

-God should always be center, the foundation, the glue that holds you together

-be the supporter, the encourager, the helper

-build him up, don’t tear him down

-don’t be passive! Have an opinion, tell how you feel

-spending time alone with your girlfriends will keep you sane; it’s very healthy!

And

-Praying together will keep your marriage strong

Wow, there is so much more, but I bet you’re tired of reading. :) I am learning more and more everyday how to do this thing called marriage.

The road ahead…

Well, I know I’ll keep learning and hopefully growing as the years go on. I want so much for Ross and I to exude a godly marriage to our children so that someday they too will have a healthy marriage. So many kids don’t know what a healthy marriage looks like because there are so many dysfunctional ones out there. I want to be a good role model for our little ones. But, I know I will mess up. I know I will fail at times. I know I’ll screw our kids up like the rest of them. But, that’s ok. They will work through it and maybe even grow a little as a result too. :)

I was told the other day that the next thing I know, Ross and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary. I hope not. I hope that there is time for me to cherish every moment of the years to come. I want the years to go by slowly so that we can really enjoy them. However, James says our lives are like a vapor, that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.

Introducing the Revolutionary Desktop Stapler

You know what I’m talking about. It’s the Paper Pro stapler. The one finger stapler. The best stapler ever. With the push of 1 finger, the stapler plunges through up to 20 sheets. The stapler does most of the work. It just needs 1 finger. Genius. For anyone who staples frequently as I do, this is a Godsend. I finally bought one last week and I have to admit, I love it. It makes my life so much easier. But, it’s not just that. I think it’s a pretty neat little piece of equipment. Granted, it’s a $15 little piece of equipment, but it’s worth every penny.

I think this definitely makes me a dork. Yes, I am in love with a stapler. But, I’m not the only one. My friend at work has one too and she loves it just as much as me. And Ross and I had a 10 minute conversation with our bank guy about it (he had one sitting on his desk)…and he seemed pretty excited about it too. I think it’s breaking out. The stapler epidemic! Before long, we’ll all be walking around like zombies mumbling something like “…must…..have…….stapler!” ok, maybe that’s an exaggeration. Maybe it won’t be THAT bad. Let’s hope not.

In conclusion, thanks to the makers of the Paper Pro stapler. We appreciate you making our lives easier and giving us something cool to use and talk about. Thanks for taking stapling to the next level. I tip my hat off to you.

May you all be blessed and productive in all your future stapler endeavors! Woot!
